Zusammenfassung:
Wenn von Gewalt in Pflegebeziehungen die Rede ist, werden damit meist Mißhandlungen an Pflegebefohlenen bis hin zu deren extremster Form, den Patiententötungen durch Pflegende, assoziiert. Da diese schlimmen Ereignisse nicht wegzudiskutieren sind, muß innerhalb der Berufsgruppe kritisch darüber nachgedacht werden. Überlegungen zu Patiententötungen durch Pflegende bilden entsprechend auch den Schwerpunkt des Beitrages. Es soll aber auch deutlich werden, daß – würde man Gewalthandlungen an Pflegebefohlenen auf einer Skala auftragen – Patiententötungen nur am Ende dieser Skala stehen, die mit den verschiedenen Formen der Nicht-Beachtung anfängt. Patiententötungen durch Pflegende in den größeren Kontext von Gewalt in der Pflege zu stellen, heißt auch, daß man von den Tätern nicht so ohne weiteres als von den anderen sprechen kann.
Abstract:
When violence in nursing relationships is discussed, it mostly suggests the maltreatment of patients going as far as ist most extreme form, the killing of patients by nurses. As talking about these terrible incidents will not make them go away, members of the nursing staff are obliged to critically discuss the topic. Reflections an the killing of patients by nurses thus are tobe the basis of this article. Also, it should become clear that, rating acts of violence toward patients an a scale, killing is at the bottom of that scale, which begins with the different forms of negligence. Placing the killing of patients by members of the nursing staff in the greater context of violence in nursing also implies that one cannot easily speak of the others as the culprits.
